One copy of full backup taken on Sunday. Can those previous archive log before Sunday still able to apply for recovery?

It depends on what you may want to apply them to? Archivelogs are meant to roll forward and therefore, you could potentially use them for an older backup or older datafiles.

Older archive logs could also be used for a standby database and/or streams configuration.

Roll forward is what I understand.. I would like to confirm, can the archive log roll backward in any latest version as for my understanding, it can't.. correct me if it's not.

You are correct. They do not and can not provide the ability to rollback.

No way,it would be like restoring redo log files from backup.
That would result in loss of data.

Hi, Thanks for all the reply.

That means, we only keep archive redo log that is AFTER the full backup. Once the full backup for the day is discard, then, archive redo log before the full backup will no more required.. thanks for the confirmation.

That's correct. If you needed to restore, you would restore the datafiles and then apply any archive/redo logs produced after the backup.

However, that being said, you never know when they may come in handy for a LogMiner function.
