Toad has a nice feature where you can perform some stuff with scripts. One of those is Compare Schema's, which we use to - well - compare schema's (our development database against our production database for instance) to figure out what is not yet promoted.
We've set this up a while ago (TOAD version 9.0.1) and it worked well.
During a normal TOAD-session one can configure which connection(s) and/or schema(s) you like to compare. In the options-tab you select/deselect the object-types to include in the compare.
Hitting the compare button will get the comparisation going.
But you can also hit the save-button, which will save all your options in a simple text-file.
This text-file can then be used at command line to perform the compare.
Strangely enough using the text-file generated by TOAD version 9.5.0.31 issues following error/log message:
Reference and Comparison Sources Not Selected
The same procedure did work with previous version of TOAD however: version 9.0.1
Getting into google with the above message doesn't provide me with useful pages.
Any of you using TOAD like this and could shed some light?
