Hi All Respected Masters,

I have a scenario in which i have to setup an oracle 30 user environment with the following details:

1. Installation of Oracle 10g Enterprise edition on Server
2003 Enterprise edition
2. 2 Servers - Application & Database Server - John 226E Servers
3. 10g Forms and Reports
4. Premia Software (Insurance domain).

My Question is do in install the Forms/Reports on the server first or should i install Oracle 10g on the server fisrt.
It is a 30 user licenced oracle installation.

User expert views are highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

In my opinion, a "natural" way would be installing Database first, Developer Suite next (so that there's already a database Forms can connect to).

However, I believe there's no difference at all - you'll have to set up the environment (TNSNAMES.ORA, SQLNET.ORA, ...) anyway, in order to make those products work together.

Thanks for your reply.

The reason why I was asking this question is, Once in the past i installed the oracle database and then developer 2000 first and then the Oracle 9i database on my home pc.

I was not able to connect to the forms/reports.
Moreover when i tried to access oracle DB via SQL, i got the error msg like File .msb is missing.

Then i removed everything from my PC and re-installed the developer first and then the Oracle 9i DB.

Everything worked fine.

Appreciate your comments.

Thanks
