Take a stack canvas put your image item on it and display the stack with the image on it over the button item.

Hi

If you need to put an image, in the property of push button, in fuction, set iconic from 'No' to 'Yes' and give the path name and icon name in icon file name property. eg:- \\10.192.30.20\E\rp_icon. This is for names with .ico extension i think.

Dear Sinida,

My friend Mr. Hany Freedom's question was "How to put image above push button ?"

He didn't ask how to make a button iconic.

I thought he simply want to put an image above the button.

Dear Hany if you want to make an ICONIC BUTTON then you have to set the property of the button to iconic first.

Then in the property sheet enter its correct path. And finally place the icon at that location and run your form.

If you are interested to make a button iconic with an image then it is not possbile is you are using Forms 6i

Hi,
I am having the same problem I am not able to display an image on a button,my main intention is to have an icon on the top of the form,its an attachment icon so when the user clicks on that one more form would open all the coding behind that button is done so now i should be able to put an image on that button and i am not able to do that i tried to give the path of the image and made the button iconic but it didn't work,I tried using .gif and .ico both didn't work,so can any one help me with this.

Dear Friend,

If you are using Developer 6i then plz correct your info that an image cannot be placed on a button. If you see a button's property sheet you will find that there is a property 'ICONIC' where you tell that button will it show an icon on the button or it's LABEL.

There is no image or image filename property where you can define an image to display on a button.

Yes a button in DEVELOPER 6i can show an icon on it. Pherhaps you are not give the correct path in the Icon Filename property.

Plz check the following 2 properties which must be set inorder to make a button iconic.

Iconic = Yes
Icon Filename = C:\myicon.ico

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I am using oracle 10g and form builder 10g,as u said i have done all the settings and checked it,tried to use a temp directory and also used the forms directory.Wat more you want me to do.

Search this forum for 'ico gif' and you will find threads concerning the problems associated with getting icons to work in 9i and 10g.
