Did you follow readme.txt files that come with the software?

Dude, believe me, MANY of us (if not ALL of us) on these forums can commiserate with you on the frustration of installing, configuring and working with Oracle. However, the language in your post is inappropriate for forum use (I edited your above post).

The level of support we are able to provide via a forum media is sometimes limited based on the fact that we aren't in front of the terminal with you or the fact that our systems aren't configured the same as yours.

That being said, as a quick fix to your problem, have you tried downloading the Win2k drivers for your HP Surestore DAT40? Win2k has built-in tape backup capability, see How to schedule unattended backups using a stand-alone tape library for more information.

I really believe Oracle Secure Backup (OSB) is the way to go and if you are still having problems with OSB, then you should file an SR with Oracle.

GUIs are great only when they work as intended.
When GUIs fail, they are like wearing a HEAVY rock in 3 meters of water.

Those who live by the GUI, die by the GUI.
