Hello all, we have a small Oracle9i database used just by Rman to backup other Oracle9i databases. In the near future we plan to upgrade one of the Oracle9i test databases to 10g along with the Rman database. My query is once the database used for Rman (also the Rman catalog) is upgraded to 10g, will this Rman database still be ok to carry on backing up/restoring the other Oracle9i databases still? Or do i have to have a Oracle10g Rman database for the 10g databases and a Oracle9i Rman database for Oracle9i databases.
Thanks.

The 10g recovery catalog will suffice for backing up both 9i & 10g databases. Check RMAN Compatibility for more information.
