hello all,
my db is started with spfile and i had to do some changes to pga_aggregate_Target .. i did this

alter system set pga_aggregate_target=new value scope=spfile;

and then did a

create pfile from spfile

and then checked to see if the new value is reflecting in pfile or not and then bounced the db couple of times ..

After the db is restarted , i see that new value is present .. but when the server is rebooted , its going back to the previous value .. what could be the issue. . ?

Thanks in advance,
vjeedigunta

Are you starting instance with default location spfile or by manually pointing the path.

What is done differently for each of the cases above?

>what could be the issue. . ?
Only do step #1 above & don't do #2
