Hello Frndz...

am working as a oracle apps technical consultant,

I need your help in the below problem.....

my requriement is i have a custom form ( New form )developed
in Inventory module .. now i have to customize that form...
The customization is .. add one field to the existing form
that field has to display DATE TIME (e.x: 16-OCT-2007 16:10:35)

HERE THE TIME HAS TO GET REFRESH EVERY SECOND,
WHEN AM OPEN THE FORM I HAVE TO SEE THE CHANGING OF SECONDS &
MINITUS.....

....... AM UNABLE TO DO THE TIME RUNNIG ......

...KINDLY HELP ME ASAP .......... TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM....

................ EAGERLY WAITING 4 UR REPLAY .......

1. Frndz is not a member. And "4 UR"? IM Speak is not appreciated. Be clear, use real words.
2. TURN OFF CAPS LOCK. Don't shout. Typing in upper case is like shouting.
3. ASAP? It's a free forum, you get what you pay for.
4. Have a look at a timer. I wouldn't recommend it though, and I fail to see the point in a running clock on a form but it's your application, not mine.

Search this forum for 'java clock'.

Using a forms timer to do the refresh uses too many resources.

hello David,

Forms timers are used for set a specific time and run that timer upto that time only.

here my requirement is i want show the date with time

like 17-OCT-2007 10:23:45
and the time has to run...like in our digital watch...

Thank you for reinforcing my comment that a timer is not applicable for refreshing an item every second.

Hmm...although I feel that you can do that with a Forms timer (I know I did it once for demonstration purposes - on a client/server Forms 6i demo) but I fully agree with you: timers = bad idea. The PJC - Java Clock idea might be something interesting. Does this help?
