i want to get name of current window in forms 10g and there is no item placed on the canvas

You can't go to a window that has no item displayed.

actually i want to get the name of window , without using the process of gettinf block name, then items, the canvas and then window.

is there any direct method u know to get name of currently display window or canvas

Search the Forms help system or reference manual for 'system'. This will show the list of available commands. Have a look at 'system.event_window' and see if that is populated during your navigation.
