Hello All,

What is the use of database option(Tools- Preferences- Access- Database)in Forms 6i?
and how to use it? I am trying to use it but not understanding what it does exactly?

Please guide.

In older versions of Forms it was quite common to store the forms in the database. To do this you needed to run a script which would create the required tables.

This feature is typically no longer used.

How to store form in the database.What is exactly use to store in the database.Where I have to go in database to see the form, I am using form6i.
I want to understand it.Can you give some steps to use this option.

Forms 3.0 was (one) of the "older" versions David mentioned. Here's how it worked: when you created a form (blocks, items, triggers, procedures, ...), you could SAVE it to the database and generate the executable (FMX) file. Source was also stored in the (editable) FMB file (this extension remained till recent versions).

When you revisited the form, you had two options: first was to OPEN it from the database, the second one was to LOAD it from the FMB file.

I don't remember which tables were used to store forms; I'll try to connect to one of the old databases and find that information if you are really interested in it.

I can't find any reference to these tables in the latest Forms documentation. Nor are there any 'sql' files in the latest Forms documentation, and it was via 'sql' files that tables were previously created. There isn't anything useful on 'google' either.
