Hi,
I am having already oracle 9i in my machine. is it possible to install oracle 10? i was facing some problem when i started installing blindly 10g in different home!
Kindly let me know how to do?

Can you please provide more info:
1) What error did you get?
2) What OS?
3) What version of Oracle 10g?
Please also confirm if you've read the installation guide and apply all the prerequisites (kernel parameters, OS patches, etc).

1) While installing NET service it was thrown some error saying ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID are set ready
2)Windows XP Pro.
3)Oracle 10g Release 2

Failure to configure NET service doesn't indicate complete database installation failure.
Replying your query, you can install more than 1 database on single server.
Check the file inventory.xml at <WINDOWS_PATITION>/Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\ContentsXML location for the correct entries of ORACLE_HOME.
Also, whenever you have two databases in a single server, you need to set ORACLE_SID for the instance you want to access. So set the correct instance by setting it as environment variable and try to configure your NET service.
Kindly read the installation guide of Oracle 10g before installation.
