how to recover after lost of currnet redo log file (merged) [message #253336]

Hi Dears

I m getting the following error when i startup the datbase

Actually my System goes down abnormally after that i m geeting the error while i startup the database

ORA-00333: redo log read error block 2 count 8192

How can i recover the database.

I have no backup

O/s : Linux

Database : 10g release 1

Kindly suggest

It's not urgent at all. No way, no how.

Try this command but i'm not sure would it works.

ALTER DATABASE CLEAR LOGFILE 'c:\dreamz\redo01.log';

After starting the database in mount mode and not open (normal) mode.

HI,
I am fresher dba . My database is running in noarchive log mod and even i dont have any backup of my db.Now I have lost my currnet redo log file. how I can recover my database. Please explain all steps.

thanks Michale. In document mentioned by u all example are of database running in archive logmode. My db is running in noarchive log mode and even i dont have any backup of my database. please tell me by step by step procedure. thanks

Read CAREFULLY the page I posted.
Some parts don't care of archive log mode.
Some are specific to ARCHIVELOG mode.
Some are specific to NOARCHIVELOG mode.

If you can't do what it is in this page, then you lose your database.

And I would also suggest :

No matter what you do, make a backup of all the data files NOW, before you do anything else that might make things worse.

Since there are hundreds of different szenarios depending on your version / os / general setup there is no general "step by step procedure" that one can follow.

The documentation Michel posted is the best there is for this case.

dear m
i have taken the backup of all the db files,
your document is excellent but it did'nt help me out because in all examples either the database shoude be in the archive mode or if it is in noarchiving mode then all the examples suggest to restore consistent databse but in my scenerio i don't have any cold backup to restore any of my database.

so please suggest some pure clarification for this problem.

when i we used " alter database open "

then its shows ora-01589 must be used restlog or noresetlog

if i used norestlog then it shows " ora -003333": redo log read error block 2 count 8192

if i used resetlog then it shos " ora-01194 file 1 need more

recovery to be consistent and ora - 01110 data file 1 :..../system01.dbf

we are unable to cleaar the logfile as redo log member status either current or active it shos the error ora-01624 and ora-00312

recover database to prior time that worked fine. like

recover database until time '2007-07-23:22:00:00';
