hi friends,

Could anybody help me

what are the steps involved in to convert the READ ONLY standby database into READ WRITE database.

If your Primary database is running fine then dont open standby in READ/WRITE mode.

it depends which standby u r using if it is physical standby that u cannot open in read write mode untill u shutdown your primary but in logical yes u can open in read write mode 4 reporting purpose................

Reporting does not need read/write, read only is sufficient.

You can open a physical standby in read/write mode, you just have to know that then you lose the relation with the primary that is the previous standby database is no more a standby for the primary but a clone with its own life.
