Do you know which column stores who posted a journal entry?
I asssumed last_update_by in journal header table would have the info but it doesn't turn out to be case.

Give this a try.
GL_JE_BATCHES has a column called REQUEST_ID which should hold the conc request id of the 'Posting' process, that was responsible for the Posting of the batch. Use this request_id in FND_CONCURRENT_REQUESTS to find out who it was submitted by. If it was Posted by AutoPost, this will not help.
