Hi
I'm using oralce (toad) and would like to access data in a table of sql server from oracle
I used
select * from servername.databasename.dbo.tablename (tablename is in the sql server 2000)
but could not succeed.
Does any one know how I can do this?

Thanks in anticipation

Does TOAD knows how to connect to SQL Server?
Is this an Oracle question?
I don't see where Oracle is in what you posted.

Michel

Toad for Oracle can only access Oracle. In Oracle you can create a DB link to SQL server via ODBC. You need ODBC drivers for your Oracle host - if it's Windows then you already have them. Search for "Oracle hetrogeneous services". Once your DB link to SQL server is created - you can query the SQL server tables via Oracle over the link.

TOAD is also available for SQL Server

The easiest way may be to download the latest Oracle migration workbench tool (free)
