ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name. [message #245076]

Hi

I am installing 10gR2 Db and 9i client in local m/c.
I am creating DB sucessfully.I am also able to connect that db
(system/Asimil8@ORA10DB) Now when I want Oracle 9i client and 10gR2 Database...I am getting error
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name.

Step 1. I have copy tns entry to 10gR2 DB to 9i client.
Step 2. restart all Oracle services(listener,DB,Oracle 9iClient cache)

and try to login ....

I am getting error
ERROR:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name.

Please let me know what is the problem

ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor

You must configure your service name in

$ ORACLE_HOME/NETWORK/ADMIN/ tnsnames.ora.

Examle :

ADAPTIME =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = adaptime75)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = ADAP)
)
)
