Hei,
What are the fundamental differences between a SNAPSHOT CONTROL FILE & CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE BACKUP …:
· Can both be used for a restore? So if a snapshot is set up and running, we don’t need to take an explicit Control File Rman backup or to set CONFIGURE CONTROL FILE BACKUP…?
· If each time we run an RMAN backup, RMAN automatically take a backup of the Control File (CONFIGURE CONTROL FILE BACKUP…), why do RMAN need to take a snapshot of the Control File? Isn’t it duplicating the job or it has a totally different purpose?
Thank you for your help!
Best regards,
Patrick.
