Not sure how to start but here goes...

I have 2 pcs. In PC1 only Orace Client was installed and PC2 the full version.

From PC1 I can access the database in PC2 with DBA Studio but I can't connect with SQL Worksheet.

What is the problem? Where should I start looking?

Thanks.

Chuck

You don't give the same credentials.
You made a typo.
The database crashed between the 2 tests.
You took off the wire between the 2 tests.
You switched off the PC.
You lacked fuel.

Are DBA Studio and SQL Worksheet in the same Oracle home? Is the tnsnames.ora file that is used by DBA Studio the same tnsnames.ora file that SQL Worksheet is using?

Search your PC for tnsnames.ora and see how many copies you have on it?

Ok solved it.

It was because of the default extension domain on the service name. Deleted the extension and the problem went away.

Thank you very much.
