Hi,

My question is whenever I bring a report down from Unix onto my local drive and I attempt to open it in Oracle Forms it hangs for a very long time. Is this normal? I am using Forms 6i and the files I'm downloading from Unix are 6i as well.

Finally, I get tons of error messages stating the library files (.pll) are missing.

2nd question: when I download a form file from Unix what other files do I need to download to my local drive? I usually just download the .fmb file only.

3rd question: I noticed some .err files in the forms directory any idea what these are?

I'm new to using forms, so please be easy with me.

I moved all the library files and .fmb and .fmx to my local drive and it didn't hang anymore.

Remember that when you run your Forms on a Unix machine you have to recompile them ON the Unix machine. Do the libraries first, then the menus, and then the forms. I recommend only using the 'rdf' version of the reports and NOT use the 'rep' compiled version.
