How to open a directory [message #239971]

Hi all
on a when-button-pressed, I need to open a particular folder/Directory and when a file is selected, that filename should be returned to an item.

Can someone help me out, please.

if you are using forms 6/6i use the GET_FILENAME function.

refer to d2k help for more details.

Thank you.
However, I use Forms 10 and since it runs on a browser, i cannot specify c:...how do i specify my local pc or any other directory under unix ?

Search this forum for 'webutil' or 'web_util'. Go to the Oracle Forms web site and get a copy of 'web_util' from there. Run the demo. Learn how it uses the 'open_file' dialog. Use it to direct your 'export' and 'import' commands to your preferred directory.
