I am using Oracle 9.2 on Windows server 2003 box.
When I type the command “oemctl start oms” I get the response “The requested service has already been started.”.
However when I type “oemctl stop oms”, I get the following response :
OEMCTL for Windows NT: Version 9.2.0.1.0 Production
Stopping the Oracle Management Server...
VXA-2008 : Could not locate an Oracle Management Server on node <node name> Has it been shut down?
VXA-2012 : Failed to log in
Earlier I had tried to shut down the “OracleORACLE_iSetupManagementServer” from the Windows Services console but it hangs with the “Stopping” status.
Please advice me how to stop/kill this process?

I tried all the steps mentioned in there but there are no logs in the sysman/log folder. There was a huge nohup.out in there (about 12 Gigs) which I had to delete in order to get back some system space.
Before deleting I checked the nohup.out (last 1000 lines) and it looked like the log was mainly about the thread dump.
I am short of doing a complete DB shutdown and reboot the box. Is there any other alternative?
