Error while installing Oracle 9i on Redhat9 [message #239177]

Hi,

While running ./runInstaller on Linux 9 I get following error---

"The user is root. OUI cann't continue installation if the user is root."

I have set all the Oracle and linux parameters like- oracle_sid, path etc. I have also created one user named 'oracle' with following command--

groupadd dba
groupadd oinstall
groupadd oper

useradd -c DBA -g oinstall -G dba oracle

seems you are trying to do the installation as root user.

connect as user which you created for runing and then start installation.
