Hi there

we got ORA-02049: timeout: distributed transaction waiting for lock during commit process. As my understanding, the error comes from a DML statement that requires locks on a database can be blocked if another transaction own locks on the requested data. Does any one have any comments? Thanks for any input.

ora-02049: timeout: distributed transaction waiting for lock
 *Cause: exceeded INIT.ORA distributed_lock_timeout seconds waiting for lock.
 *Action: treat as a deadlock

Mitchel,

I wonder is there way to resolve this. distributed_lock_timeout by increasing the time on this OR any other best suitable method. Please advice.

The advice is in the "action" part: treat this as a deadlock.
