Hi,
I have a data dump taken from oracle 8i running on Windows. I have to import it into oracle 10g running on Unix machine. But create script for tablespace datafile points to windows directory in the dump. How can I resolve this issue?

Precreate your tablespace.

i guess for moving one platform to another you must convert the Endian format

Once again read carefully the question.
This one has no relation with transportable tablespace but with a standard dump.
There is no endian issue in this case.
The problem is in the name of the datafiles.

Moreover the document you posted is for 10g, OP said he works with 8i.

Most of your posts are useless and/or out of the question. Please take a little care and don't try to play the post number.

Once again a Ready, Fire, AIM response from you.
You seem to know many buzzwords.
Files created by EXPORT are 100% OS independent files; regardless of Endian or 32vs.64 bit OS.
The only "restriction" is that a file can NOT be imported into a lower version database.

Please get your facts straight, before you distort reality again.
