Can somebody summarize the order of events when a form gets loaded?

Why? There are triggers that fire and they are documented in the Oracle Forms manuals. The first is the Pre-Form, then the When-New-Form-Instance, then the various pre-block, pre-record, pre-item triggers, then post-item, post-record, post-block, as well as numerous other triggers, then finally the post-form as you are leaving the form.
