I am fundamental 1 student.
Was trying all different configuration to see all available type of status in V$logfile.
I have created new redo log group & then deleted it file from OS.
After manually tried to switch to that group. From group 1 to group 4 [ switch logfile]
Found I database was close & I was disconnected.
[Wasn’t database suppose to be hault, till I clear redo log group? Why it got shutdown? Same thing happen when I open current redo group file from os made some changes & saved the file. Database got close instead of getting haulted.
When reconnected & start database.
Started in mount stage.
I found my last redo log file[ of group 1] was having status STALE in V$logfile.
Where as that file which I had deleted was having status blank which indicated currently in use.
New status type found in V$log.
Group was having status INVALIDATED which is not there in my oracle university book.
I deleted group 4, who’s redo file already deleted at OS level.
I did not clear group which was in INVALIDATED stage.
& reopen database. Got open in normal read-write mode.
& just shutdown the database & reopen it.
[EDIT] Removed [code] tags.

And the question is?
Btw, when you use code tags, split your lines at at most 80 characters. Not everybody can display or read 200 character lines.
