API is a general technical term and abbreviation of application programming interface. In the Oracle E-Business Suite APIs are usually a set of stored PL/SQL procedures that you can call from your own programs. You can write custom conversion programs that populate your E-Business Suite instance with data from legacy systems using APIs.
Oracle ADI is a product that allows you to enter data into the General Ledger and Fixed Assets using Microsoft Excel. ADI is an abbreviation of Applications Desktop Integrator. ADI also integrates Excel with the Financial Statement Generator (FSG) in General Ledger.
