I have recently been given the opportunity to manage the Grid Controller for my organization. The Grid Controller is on Version 10 release 1. The Oracle databases are 9i running on UNIX. I have been asked to add a new database to the Grid Controller. There already is an agent installed on the host machine other databases on that machine.

I have signed on to the Grid Controller as sysman. My target database is discovered on a cluster with the Grid Controller. The icon (pink wrench) shows up indicating that the database is only partially configured. I complete the configuration and the icon indicates that is has been configured(Blue wrench). I then log off and log back on. The icon has reverted back to pink indicating that it is not configured. Please let me know what I must do to configure the database properly on the Grid Controller.

emctl status agent

Hi,

When you have configured your grid agent on repository, have you check the connectivity? Is your data from 9i database is reflecting properly on 10g grid control.

Check configuration properly, and check the port number is propely configured or not (default is 4889).

Regards,
Harshad
