hi experts,

i have developed an application using oracle forms9i.i want to configure DNS.please help me out in configuring the DNS. stepwise explanation wil be very much helpful for me..thanks in advance.

What is the problem that you are having with Forms 9i? Do you mean 'tnsnames'?

thanks martin,
my problem is,
i have developed a application system..i am keying the whole url on the web browser whenever i want to call the.fmx file.the url shows all the details abt the location uname pwd etc.i want to hide those information from the user..how to do that. how to set an alias name for it...please help me out.

Search this forum for 'formsweb.cfg'. You can build a 'configuration' in this file and it contains all the information needed to run your application but because it is in the 'cfg' file it is hidden from the user.

i have searched it.but i am unable to understand anything..can u plz explain me how to give the alias name for the url in formsweb.cfg file..please

Create a new section/configuration with the name you want your users to use. Place all the information required in that configuration and then use the configuration name in the url.
