Greetings to all !!!

I have been stuck in this problem for last three days.
I will be heartly thankful if someone please help me in solving this issue.
I have installed
Oracle 9i database, -> OraHome92
Oracle 9i Application server -> OraHome9
Oracle 9i Developer Suite -> OraHome9
on my desktop pc.

Now in my C: Drive I can see two folders named
"Oracle" and "Forms"

I configured Listener "ORA_LISTENER" through Oracle Net Configuration Assistant present in OraHome92.

I used the port number 7777

This configured the listener present in

C:\oracle\ora92\network\admin\listener.ora file.

I also configured LocalService name "SCT" in OraHome92 on the same port i.e. 7777.
Configuration was successful and I was able to connect to the database.

After that I configured the Listener "IDS_LISTENER" through Oracle Net Configuration Assistant present in OraHome9.

I used the port number 1748 as this was one of the ports given in
portslist.init(exact file name not sure) present in

C:\forms\install\portslist.init file

This configured the listener present in

C:\forms\network\admin\listener.ora file.

After that I configured LocalService name "SCT" in OraHome9 i.e. through Net Configuration Assistant present in OraHome9.

I used the port number 1748

Service name was NOT Successfully configured.
It gave me the error "No Listener found".

Then I configured the service name "SCT" again in OraHome9
at the port number 7777.

This time service was successfully configured.

After that I tried to start the listener
"IDS_LISTENER" on DOS Prompt.

C:\ lsnrctl start IDS_LISTENER

I got the error:

System Parameter file is
C:\Oracle\Ora92\Network\Admin\listener.ora
Missing Listener name "IDS_LISTENER" in listener.ora file.

Then after starting OC4J instance I started Forms Builder.
Forms builder was successfully connected with the database.

But when I run the form....it goes on the web page and is
hung up on white screen showing at the bottom

"Website Found. Waiting for reply"

At the top I can see a long string somewhat like this
http://computer_name:7777/forms90....I forgot the rest..

I have been very upset due to this problem for last three days.

Please help me as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance.

I suggest removing the Application Server and Developer Suite. Then with just the database running make sure that you can get SQL*Plus working properly. Then reinstall just the Developer Suite, it is designed to run on a PC without an Application Server. make sure that you get the tnsnames.ora files etc matched between the two environments.

However, it is possible that all your need to do is change your browser settings. Look at http://www.orafaq.com/forum/m/212685/67467/?srch=internet+options#msg_212685

Hi David,

Lots of thanks David....
As per your suggestion, I reinstalled the Forms Developer Suite wihtout Application Server. I needed to configure one service, and yes now my forms are up and running in web environment.

Once again thanks for your suggestion.
