Have been using 8i client on a Windows 2000 workstation to connect to a customer Oracle back end. Have been able to successfully download .txt files directly from the customer custom application into Excel on the workstation. Have created a new COE workstation using XP and the Oracle 10g client. When the file is now downloaded Excel does not recognise the download file because the first character of the .txt file is a Form Feed instead of a Carriage Return Line Feed. Is there a configuration on the client that will convert the FF to CR/LF as the file is downloaded????????? Customer's Oracle back end has not changed and still works on the old 8i client under Windows 2000.

This sounds like a change in FTP characteristics.
@others: Where does MS hide these things on an XP machine?
