I have installed the Oracle8.1.7 DB on PC (Intel PIV 3.0Ghz,512MBRAM, OS Win2003SP1). Everything's good but the client connected to this DB with very low speed. So, please show me how to fix this problem ! Many Thanks.
P/S: I could'nt start listener in DOS by using LSNRCTL START command. Here's my init file:

That's most probably because you have allotted very less memory to oracle..see your parameter:
shared_pool_size = 8348467
can you make it something like 80 mb and check...(just add one zero to the make this number 83484670)
also post the output of show sga command..

Thanks for your advise! I've changed shared_pool_size parameter as your advise.
The results of show sga command are:
==>before
SQL> show sga ;
Total System Global Area 67967004 bytes
Fixed Size 75804 bytes
Variable Size 43769856 bytes
Database Buffers 24043520 bytes
Redo Buffers 77824 bytes
===>and now (after change)
SQL> show sga;
Total System Global Area 143501340 bytes
Fixed Size 75804 bytes
Variable Size 119304192 bytes
Database Buffers 24043520 bytes
Redo Buffers 77824 bytes
If any parameters must change for better perfomance of database, please give me a advise !
