I am trying to move a database from one server to another. They both are Server 2003 OS and running Oracle 10.2.0.3 but different hardware.

Will it work properly if I stop te database service and copy the contents of the following folder from one machine to the other?

:\oracle\product\10.2.0\oradata\

If the target server's Oracle path is a different drive letter will it matter when I start it?

I guess what I am asking is: Is there anything else I will need to do after copying the Cold backup files?

The machine I am copying to has a database with the same name and similar contents.

As said, Search the forum.
You need to take backup of controlfile in text format (backup controlfile to trace).
Edit the text file to reflect your current path.
