Hi All,

Any one please tell me, the backup of all files from standby database will be used for disaster recovery? b'cos i am going to schedule the backup only on standby db instead of primary db.

Kindly suggest me whether this kind of backups are advisable.

Thanks in advance

Magesh

Yes, it is, but if you believe any stranger with your mission critical data WITHOUT doing at least 3 complete recoveries; then your boss has a fool working for him.

Sure backups can be off-loaded to the standby database. See Using RMAN to Back Up and Restore Files for details on the process.
