Swap Space Error -> installation 10g R2 on Solaris 10 [message #213815]

Hello...I am trying to install 10g R2 on Solaris 10..I have come across this error:

Checking operating system version: must be 5.8, 5.9 or 5.10. Actual 5.10
Passed

checking Temp space: must be greater than 250 MBKilled
. Actual 19771 MB Passed

Checking swap space: 0 MB available, 500 MB required. Failed <<<<

Checking monitor: must be configured to display at least 256 colors. Actual 16777216 Passed

Some requirement checks failed. You must fulfill these requirements before

...using the oracle id ....

when trying to install under root..the pre reqs complete correctly other than it saying I cannot install under root..so I am suspecting its something to do with this particular id....

PLEASE HELP...

When all else fails, Read The Fine Manual

& do EXACTLY what is says.

I did do Exactly what it states...and running the

runInstaller -- gives the above error...

It clearly explains how to check & establish sufficient swap space.
It appears you neglected to do so before invoking runInstaller.

Be careful, swap space is handled differently between Linux and Solaris. Verify your swap space with 'swap -l' and check Adding Swap space on Solaris.

I m facing the same problem on Windows 7. I have successfully installed Oracle DB 10g.
