I have a non-database block with 8 items. Upon button click, I manually insert or update data on a table then I issue commit. The problem is instead of saving confirmation, the message is No changes to save. I want a confirmation (e.g: FRM-40400: Transaction complete: 1 records applied and saved)

Form doesn't have anything to save because it is a control block. To avoid message 'No changes to save', instead of 'commit' use 'standard.commit' command. Use 'message' command to display an appropriate message.
