How do you get rid of the brackets [] that group BEGIN..END, IF..END IF and CASE..END CASE in the editor?

It's something like this:
[BEGIN
[END;

[IF
[END IF;

  1. Open a SQL editor
  2. Right click and choose "Editing options..."
  3. Uncheck "Enable code folding"

Thanks but that didn't work. That option was already unchecked and I still have the brackets. I wonder if it's a combination of several options.

Which options do you have checked under "General"? I'll just duplicate what you have and see if the brackets go away.

Can you post a screenshot so I know what you are talking about? MWSnap is a useful utility for that Wink

Thank you, now I see what you mean (I thought you were talking about the lines in the gutter). Sorry but I have no idea how to loose these lines. They indicate a single block of code ( "if" to "end if", "for .. loop" to "end loop"), but I can't tell how to get rid of them.

As far as I'm concerned, I'd like to know if there's a free upgrade of my TOAD version so that I'd have this functionality too. Duane, would you, perhaps, want to exchange TOADs? You'd downgrade, and I'd upgrade /forum/fa/1704/0/

Honestly, it seems to be quite useful to me. Is there any particular reason why you'd want to get rid of it?

It clutters up the code at times. I was so use to not seeing it in version 8.6.

You can upgrade if you have a current maintenance agreement that allows you to upgrade to the next version.
