I have seven files systems on unix server used for storing data files of our three databases and other purpose. One of the file system /u02 occupy 100% with data and /u03 occupy 94% data on the /u03 file system. We have added one more disk to grow the database files.

But, there are so many existing old data files resided at mentioned file systems /u02 and /u03.

Does it require to make room in the mentioned file system? i.e /u02 and /u03

If not, what would be the impact in terms of storage, performance etc.

Your suggestion would be appreciated.

This is nothing to do with performance.
I would not be comfortable to have 100% utilized disk (and have to reset all the monitoring scripts/pagers).
If you are sure that the said datafiles will never grow, you can leave it as is.

But, If it requires to grow the datafile in the concern tablespace and file system then performance would be the issue.

Can you please make your comment in trems of performance and occupied 100% space?

If grows and reaches 100% (and cannot expand) the concerned datafile cannot take any more data. Your insert/update operations MAY fail.
Other than that it has no effect on performance (whehter the filesystem/datafiles in 10% full or 99% full).
Your RAID system/queries/available data,distribution of data and statistics on data is what matters for performance.
If you are still concerned just move the said datafiles to other other disk. Spreading out the I/O to different physical disk may help. But still, datafile utilization has nothing to do with it.
