Hi
im trying to install oracle patch 5117106 which I have done so many times in differente servers solaris 5.8 and oracle 10GR2 today in this server which is the same as other servers e.g. os and db it fails with these errors, now the files in question are in place
Any help would be great

Interesting.
Seems there are several ORACLE_HOME in the same server.
Are all the ORACLE_HOMEs installed by the same user (including the current ORACLE_HOME= /opt/oracle/product/10g )?
If different users are used to install, did you check the read/write persmssions on the said files?
>>/opt/oracle/etc/config/actions
and
>>/opt/oracle/etc/config/inventory
Seems there is a problem with central inventory.
I am not sure.
Enable the debug and apply the patch. Look into the logfiles for mismatch.
$export OPATCH_DEBUG=TRUE
And raise a TAR.
