Guys

We do export-import regularly and sometime when we get too many rows in a table(eg: 297965538) export hangs for some time. Internaly it is running since i can see that the export dump size is increasing but would appreaciate if any one can provide some script to know "how many rows" so far has been "exported" and from which table.

Thanks
Neeraj

Hi,

Thanks for the link.
But the question asked there was not answered.

Questions is , is there any query which displays us that this is the table and this many rows are currently being exported by export utility as import does.

Reason to monitor is very simple.
I start export in vnc session and if the table being exported is having 2000000 rows than in the session it will be hang until that table is being exported and export logfile will never get updated, at the same time size of the export dump is increasing but this is not the technical answer(size of the dump file).

If there is no query to watch the things going when export is running than will i get some workaround other than the Tom has given.

Thanks
Neeraj

Feedback = N does that.
If you want to issue a 'query' against the database to check the same, there is NO SUCH FACILITY.
You are exporting (logically extracting) records out of oracle. Why do you expect Oracle to record that information?
