Dear friends,
Goodafternoon from Greece. I would like to know (and for personal use also) how can i install the forms and reports. I have Oracle 10g and Oracle 9i. I also have Oracle developer suite 9i and Oracle application server 9i.
It is extremely difficult to understand which i have to install first, just to have a standalone use of Oracle and Oracle forms and reports.
Can anybody help how to install them and what i need to install just to use forms and reports of Oracle.
Thanks in advance

I believe it can all be found in the Installation Guide (only if you'd pay enough attention to it).
OK, in a few words: first install Oracle database. As you already have 10g, install this one. During installation, you'll be prompted to enter Oracle Home - directory into which Oracle database is to be installed. Choose, for example, c:\oracle\ora10.
During installation, if you choose Typical one, setup (actually, the Universal Installer) will create a database for you. Be sure to write down all relevant data (database name, SYS/SYSTEM passwords, Enterprise Manager URL, port, etc.).
When it is finished, try to connect to it using SQL*Plus to make sure everything is OK.
Then install Oracle Developer Suite. Again, you'll have to choose Oracle Home. Do NOT choose the same directory as the one you used to install Oracle database (for example, this one could be c:\oracle\ora10devsuite). Typical installation will install all software you need to start learning (including Forms and Reports Builders).
Installer will try to set up environment for you (i.e. set up TNSNAMES.ORA which will look at the database you previously installed). Sometimes it will not succeed - if you try to connect to the database through, for example, Forms Builder, it will fail. If that happens, go to ORACLE_database_HOME\NETWORK\ADMIN directory, copy TNSNAMES.ORA, SQLNET.ORA and LISTENER.ORA and paste them into ORACLE_developer_suite_HOME\NETWORK\ADMIN directory (i.e. overwrite existing ones). This should help and, after doing so, you *should* be able to connect to the database using products of the Developer Suite.
Once again: check the Installation Guides.
If necessary, do come back and say what bothers you.

Before starting the installation, is there any problem if i have oracle 10g or 9i and developer 6i and 9i?
To be more accurate is it possible to install 10g and afterwards to install developer 6i or application developer 9i?
Thanks in advance.
