Hi Srinivas.,

I guess , for VAT there not tht much setup setp's required. Jst goto "Accounts Payable ' and select 'Setup->tax -> Taxes'..

Here enter the "VAT" Name and Select Tax type as "Value Added Tax".


Thats.. all.Now when u raised any "Purchase Order " and save , and Click on 'Tax'.. Here select "VAT" tax.


If u doesn't want to enter mannually,, u can mention the Default at "Additional Supplier info" ( iam not sure about this point,coz i used for TDS..not VAT)..


if iam wrong, anybody can plz correct this one...

Navigate to India Purchasing:
1. Define VAT Regime - Required
2. Define Regime Registration - Required
3. Assign Rax Types - Required
4. Assign Tax Accounts - Required
5. Assign Oraganizations/ Locations - Required
6. Define Oraganisations Registration - Optional
7. Assign Organisations Tax Accounts - Optional
8. Define Item Classification - Required
9. Define Claim Terms - Required
10. Define VAT Invoice Sequence - Optional
11. Define Supplier Registration - Optional
12. Define VAT Tax Authority - Required


Navigate to India Order Management
13. Define Supplier Registration - Optional

Navigate to General Ledger

14. Define Journal Sources - Required

For more detail please refer pdf. U can download from metalink. File name is - India Localization VAT URM.pdf. This file explains each step in detail with navigation.

I'm working on Oracle Application India Localization as a Technical consultant and I need to work around Data Migrations and Interfaces. Colud, any one please send any technical documents on oracle Apps (India Localization). Mainly I'm looking for how this differ from General Apps, Tables and Open Interfaces.
