hi!
just had an interview, i know this is a bit off topic, just want to know your comments on this, thank you so much for your time.

"if you could choose how others thought of you, would you prefer to be known as the "technical expert" or as a "reliable trusted mentor"? Why?"

>> "technical expert" or as a "reliable trusted mentor"?
What is the difference?
Can one be a trusted mentor without the technical expertise?
I always wonder, from where these interviewers are pulling these kind of questions from?

Well, the most notorious technical experts are often bad mentors, due to lack of communication skills. (often called nerds Wink)

Is it acceptable to say 'both'? Then give reasons why you feel that you can handle both roles thereby not assuming one role over the other.
