hai,
I have small doubt..
Why this following error is coming ..?
87 going offline due to error advancing checkpoint..
What type of precautions need to be taken for this error ...

Some logswitch errors occur sometimes when you try to switch archivelogs and the archivelog has not yet been written out. Archivelogs become logfiles depending on the number of archivewriter_processes specified in the init.ora file. Try increasing the number of processes that write out archivelogfiles. You can specify how many it writes in paraelle, and how many must complete before you start a new archivelog.
