When I try to query from v$logmnr_contents it gives error ora 4030 out of memory. I am using oracle 9.2.0.1 on aix 5. Any help?? This error occurs even if I analyze only one archive file.

ORA-04030 out of process memory when trying to allocate string bytes (string, string)
Cause: Operating system process private memory has been exhausted.
Action: See the database administrator or operating system administrator to increase process memory quota. There may be a bug in the application that causes excessive allocations of process memory space.

I read the same from oracle error messages list but I want to know how can process memory increase. Second thing it is a dbms_logmnr inbuilt package in Oracle. It stores all the queries recorded in archive files in v$logmnr_contents.

Are You running on 64 bit?
Or have You configured VLM?
The issue is the the O/S are not able to give the Oracle process any more memory, so if You think there are free memory, this is probably a configuration issue.
