i am running oracle serrver 9i on my xp system when i invoke tkprof it says something like this


C:\Documents and Settings\pc>tkprof
'tkprof' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

i tried with toad it says somethign like there's no tkprof utility installed in the os

I am willing to bet that it exists where the Oracle RDBMS is installed.
Why don't you just use the Search facility built into XP to find where it resides?

i checked dat too it returned no files regarding tkprof

typically tkprof resides in the same folder as "oracle", "sqlplus", "exp", "imp", etc.; such as $ORACLE_HOME/bin

Maybe you *think* it is server; perhaps it is a client which connects to the server over the network? If so, there's a good chance that you really don't have TKPROF installed.

i am damn sure its a server b'coz i am the sys user
i am still thinking very hard how to find out that damn utility
i ve downloaded toad but the tkprof can b used only with registered version
