Hi all,
I need some help please in setting up ASM disk groups within dbca.
I have created disk groups from the linux command prompt
/etc/init.d/oracleasm createdisk disk_name /device_name
when you listdisks all disk are seen. I then run 'dbca' and click on the option to Configure ASM. I then click on create new. all the disks I created from linux appear however they are prefixed by ORCL: which is incorrect. How do I get ride of ORCL:
When I installed oracle I chose not to create a database so how does the ASM configuration add ORCL: to the disks.
regards
ALan.
