Hi,

I have just installed the Express Edition 10g client but the base directory does not contain a network subdirectory and therefore there is not a tsnames.ora file. Is there a way to use this client with other applications for connecting to a remote Oracle server?.

Thanks in advance

On my laptop, the tnsnames of XE can be found at C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\NETWORK\ADMIN

Dont' you have a APP and a ORADATA subdirectory under the Oracle XE directory?

I just found out the XE client is a little different and does not contain the network\admin directory. I got rid of it and installed the full 10g client instead.
Thanks for the info anyway.
