hello
i have a database oracle9i runing on windows 2000 server, in archive log mode,
suppose the instance crashed and on the way up we found out that the undo tablespace disk id down,
can i do complete recovery or in this case its a cancel based recovery ?
then recreate the undo tablespace ?

Not sure what you mean by "disk id down". However, get the disk fixed/online and do a complete recovery. If you've lost the your UNDO files, restore them first and do a complete recovery.

hello
sorry for the typo it was "disk iS down"
but if the instance crash , the data on the undo tablespace is needed on the way up, during rollback stage,
so if i restore a backup undo tablespace how can i get this data ?
so shall i go fir an imcomplete recovery ?
or is there any possible complete recovery ?
