hi iam usinfg forms 6i.In my backup module iam taking backup of database uing host command(exp command).iam taking backup successfully into some file(ex backup1.dmp).
but i want to see data of the tables and all.but iam not able to open the backup1.dmp.
why it is so.
iam sending u the backup form also.in that just i want to enter filename.
please help me

The export dump file can not be read as a text file by us..it is not meant to be read like that..it can be read and understood only by oracle's import utility..so there is no way you can SEE THE DATA..
